I’m your word warrior.

From getting to know your organization, style, and project to producing credible, accurate and relevant copy, I’ll see the assignment through from initial inspiration to final publication.

Words, research and asking questions are my thing. I’ve investigated, questioned, narrated, and convinced as a newspaper staff reporter, a full-time employee, and a freelancer.

My subjects have been as varied as the sectors that make up our global village. But following county politics and then working for a university and women-focused nonprofit, I’ve spent a lot of time writing in the public policy, business, education and women’s health care arenas. Feature writing and analysis are also two of my specialties (see the homepage under Awards).

To connect with audiences, I don’t just find and tell the story, I also figure out what it means. I know, too, that sometimes the story starts with the readers, and I’m writing into their life narrative with the information or service they need.

Thanks to my undergraduate studies (B.A. Spanish), time spent working in Argentina and Spain, and five years of marriage to a Spaniard, I’m fluent in Spanish, as well. I’ve done reporting and research in Spanish and Spanish to English translations.
